Canada Federal Skilled Worker Program And How To Apply Under This Program
The Federal Skilled Workers Program is a part of Canada’s Express Entry program. It is a popular Immigration program outlined by the government of Canada to provide permanent settlement option for people based on their abilities and skills.
Federal Skilled Workers who meet minimum entry criteria, need to submit an expression of interest profile to the Express Entry Pool. FSWP issues a point-based visa which requires you to earn or score at least 67 points to qualify based on age, education, work experience, language proficiency. You earn points for how well you do in each of the 5 factors.

1. University degree at the Doctoral (Ph.D.) level or Equal- 25 points
2. University degree at the Master’s level or equal- 23 points
3. University level entry-to-practice professional degree (Degree must be secured in Veterinary Medicine, dentistry, Podiatry, Medicine, Optometry Law, Chiropractic Medicine or pharmacy) 23 points
4. Two or more Canadian post-secondary degrees or diplomas or equal- 22 points
5. Canadian post-secondary degree or diploma for a program of three years or longer, or equal- 21 points
6. Canadian post-secondary degree or diploma for a two-year program, or equal- 19 points
7. Canadian post-secondary degree or diploma for a one-year program, or equal- 15 points
8. Canadian high school diploma, or equal- 5 points

Who can get this Visa?
You can apply for this visa if you:
- Have experience (full time) for at least one year in the applying occupation within the past 10 years in the skills 0, A and B.
- Fall in the occupation list approved by the Canada immigration and citizenship in consent with the labor market.
- Possess a job offer arranged in the country.
- Are an international graduate who wants to apply in the Ph.D. program in Canada.
- Comply with the minimum English requirement of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7.
- Can claim additional points by French exam test.
- Do not have any criminal records.
What you can do after Visa Approval?
- Can live and work in Canada permanently,
- Can sponsor your family to become permanent residents.
- Can apply for citizenship after three years.
